DAYTON, TN (SPECIAL TO WLAF) – After falling to Milligan in the conference tournament last season, the Bryan College Women’s Basketball team had a statement to make on Saturday afternoon in Summers Gym. Former Campbell Lady Cougar Sarah Cain-Weinburger and her Lady Lions got off to a quick start straight from tip-off and put up 30 points in the 1st quarter. Bryan never looked back and earned their second win of the season by a score of 97-62 over the Buffaloes.
Cain-Weiburger scored nearly a point-a-minute in the rout. The senior starter tallied 15 points in 16 minutes of action. Number 45 was 3 for 3 beyond the arc and 2 for 2 from the stripe.
INSIDE THE BOX
- Freshman Gracee Dishman led the Lions with 19 points while shooting 7-9 from the field.
- Sophomore Kaitlynn Hennessee filled the stat sheet with 16 points, 13 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals, and 2 blocks.
- The Lady Lions held the Buffs to 39% shooting and forced 17 turnovers.
