JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – In a rare season where every game on the Campbell County High Basketball schedule is a doubleheader at the same venue, Tuesday’s very first game has taken an odd turn. The Cougars game at Hardin Valley Academy is cancelled leaving the Lady Cougars to play at 6 pm with no Cougars game to follow.
“Our players have just been champs through all this (the pandemic). They never complain. Whatever the new protocols are, they just roll with it, and they’ve done a great job of adjusting,” said seventh-year Lady Cougar Head Coach Brad Honeycutt.
Voice of the Cougars and Lady Cougars Josh Parker returns for another fun season. Parker shares his preseason interview with Coach Honeycutt HERE.
Tuesday night’s season opener at Hardin Valley Academy marks the first time Campbell has played at the home of the Hawks in Honeycutt’s tenure. Though they have met once in the region; a CCHS win. The Lady Cougars and Lady Hawks have played a lot of summer scrimmages against each other over the years.
