KNOXVILLE, TN (WLAF) – “From Davis Chapel to Cherry Bottom and all points in-between, it’s basketball time in Campbell County” is how Josh Parker, Voice of the Cougars, opened Tuesday night’s coverage of Campbell High Basketball on opening night.

WLAF’s Josh Parker is back behind the mic of Campbell County Basketball. The veteran play-by-play man took a break from calling games midway through last season and returned with a renewed excitement last night in the CCHS season opener.

“It felt good to be back,” said Parker. It was a girls game only at Hardin Valley Academy as HVA cancelled the boys game due to concerns surrounding illness.

Long before the game begins, Josh Parker is getting ready for the first broadcast of the season.

Parker was able to shout his patented “Cha Ching” he uses when CCHS makes a three-point shot from the Lady Cougars opening bucket; an Izzy Proffitt trey. His moniker was needed seven times in the first half alone.

WLAF is broadcasting all Campbell County games, like always, and has been since 1975. Next up is the home opener with Bearden on Thursday night at Brown Gym. The Lady Cougars open the varsity games doubleheader at 6 pm.
