JC Brown, age 90 of LaFollette, passed away on Saturday, November 14, 2020 at the U.T. Medical Center of Knoxville. He was born on April 26, 1930 to the late George and Cleo (Smith) Brown. He was a loving husband of 70 years, a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather. JC was a member of West LaFollette Baptist Church and his passion was spending time in his woodworking shop and with his great grandchildren. He also loved singing Gospel Hymns about his Lord and Savior.  

In addition to his parents, JC is preceded in death by his wife, Georgia Ann Brown; his son Jerry Lee Brown and brothers, Ulyess Veldon “Bo” Brown and Billy Ray Brown; sisters, Agnes Irene Lindsay, Eula Lee Falls, and Georgia Mae Williams.

He is survived by daughters, Kathy and husband Mike Ayers of LaFollette and Vickie and husband Roger Hammac of LaFollette; brother Ernest Elmer Brown and wife, Margret Ann of Knoxville; grandchildren Amanda and James Van De Griff, Jennifer and John Ritchie, Matthew and Jessica Brown, Sara and Ryan Fletcher, Russ and Katy Hammac, and Jill and Derek McHaffie; great grandchildren Jack, Wade, and Kate Van De Griff, Wyatt , Hattie, and Caroline Ritchie, Charlie, Oliver, and Lucy Georgia Fletcher, Braden Brown, and Ryann, Bo, and Mary Ellis McHaffie.

Due to the surge of the COVID-19 virus, the immediate family will have a private graveside service at Bakers Forge Cemetery with Rev. Sampson Ridenour and Rev. Jeff Evans officiating. The family request that everyone attending the graveside service to please wear a mask to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
