Name of victim released in death investigation

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Law enforcement officials have released the name of the victim found dead along Cedar Creek Road last week.

The victim has been identified as Donnie Bryant, according to the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office. No other information has been officially released on the investigation.

Bryant’s body was discovered by a passerby down an embankment on Cedar Creek Road around 4:51 p.m. last Tuesday. Bryant had stab wounds and was found between Cedar Creek Baptist Church and Freddy’s Market, a WLAF source said.

Members of the Campbell County Rural Fire Service used a 24-foot ladder and a Stokes basket to bring the body up to the roadway from some 20-feet up.

The death continues to be under investigation by the Campbell County Sheriffs Office and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 11/24/2020-7:30PM)
