Cancer fighter JR Kitts is back on the job, doing well and wearing his blue on this second JR Kitts Day.

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – It was one year ago when LaFollette painted the town blue for J.R. Kitts. Here one year later, the cancer fighter is back on the job, doing well and wearing his blue.

JR Kitts with one of his granddaughters, Jaylynn, who had the idea of JR Kitts Day.

The Tire King’s granddaughter Jaylynn organized the special day on Dec. 4, 2019, for JR who was just beginning his battle against colon cancer. The date has added meaning in that it’s the birthday of Kitts mother, Essie.

Jaylynn said, “With the pandemic, we’re not gathering this year for papaw, but we would like for you to wear your blue for him today.”
