JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – It’s a Saturday matinee of basketball for Campbell and Powell on Brown Court. All the fun begins at noon with the JV Cougars game followed by the two varsity games for the Lady Cougars at 1:30 pm and the Cougars at 3 pm. Today’s games mark the seventh games in 12 days for what has been an NBA-like stretch for Campbell. CCHS visited Powell back on Tue., Jan. 19, and the teams split at Hunter Gym.

Powell claimed the girls game with a 51 to 39 win over the Lady Cougars. Today’s game is a must win for Campbell as it aims to host a first round home game in the District 3 tournament set for next month.

It had been years since the Cougars won a game with Powell, and you have to go even further back for the last CCHS victory on the Panthers home court. Campbell held on for the 68 to 66 win less than two weeks ago.

The Lady Cougars are 7 & 9 in all contests and sport a 5 & 6 district record. The Cougars record is 7 & 7 and in the district, it is 5 & 6.
