John E. Bond, age 80, of Jacksboro passed away Monday, January 4, 2021. He was a member and deacon of Fordtown Baptist Church. He was director for Campbell County Ambulance Service for 35 years, the Campbell County Commissioner for 12 years, and was the Emergency Management Director. He was the former president of T.A.S.A. where a yearly, “John Bond Administrator of the Year” award is presented. He served on the Campbell County E911 Board, on the State EMS and 911 Board, and he started Vital Care in March of 2008. Preceded in death by parents, James Wiley Bond and Thelma Grace London Bond; grandson, Johnathon Brandenburg.

Daughters: Jonica Bond, Kamille and husband Shawn McGlone

Sons: John Kelly Bond and Jeff Bond

Grandchildren: Samantha Goins and Bobby, Hannah Bond

Great Grandchildren: Addison Goins, Bayleigh Goins, Maverick Goins, Charlee Bond and Chandler Bond


Brothers: Earl Ray Bond and wife Phyllis

Family will receive friends Friday 5 PM to 7 PM at Fordtown Baptist Church. Funeral Service 7 PM Friday at Ford Town Baptist Church with Rev. Matt Sandefur, Rev. David Hicks and Rev. Tim Dupuy officiating.

Family and friends will meet at Cross-Smith Funeral Home 10 AM Saturday and proceed to Powell Valley Cemetery for 11 AM Interment.
