JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – Oak Ridge visited Brown Gym on Thursday night for games that were rescheduled from Dec. 4 due to COVID-19 protocol.

Oak Ridge broke open a four-point girls game and rode lots of free throws to distance itself from Campbell on the way to a 62 to 43 victory. The loss was the first in the district for the Lady Cougars as their record now reads 3 & 3 and 2 & 1 (district).

Freshman Izzy Proffitt continued where she left off on Tuesday at Karns with another big night of hot shooting. She opened the night with a big three to give Campbell the first lead. Proffitt led CCHS with 20 points. Alyssa Brown added nine followed by five from Cora Browning, Bailey Gillum’s four, three from Kayleigh Jordan and two from Keely Nelson.

The boys varsity game went the way of Oak Ridge as the Cats clawed past Campbell 81 to 50. The Cougars now sit at 1 & 4 with a district mark of 0 & 3.

Spencer Boshears was the lone double-figure scorer for Campbell with 13. Noah Burden tallied eight. John John Long, Devin Jones and Seth Ward all had six each. Ryan Horton chipped in two while Riley Faulkner added one.

Campbell hosts Clinton Saturday in a noon start for the Cougar JVs followed by the Cougars and the Dragons at 1:30 pm. The girls game is postponed due to COVID-19 protocol.
