JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – After a white Toyota truck cross the center line several times, failing to maintain his lane of travel, Campbell County Sheriff’s Deputy Christopher West decided to act.

He also noticed the Toyota having erratic braking behavior and erratic speed changing on the evening of Dec. 28. West stopped the vehicle and spoke with the driver who was identified as Upendrasinh Jivatsinh Solanki, according to the sheriff’s report. Solanki denied he had been drinking. He was then asked if he had taken any illegal narcotics, prescriptions or anything else that would put him under the influence, again he replied “no.”

After a series of questions, Solanki submitted to field sobriety test and failed it.

Solanki, 61, 373 Lower Circle, Jacksboro was arrested and charged with DUI (first offense). (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 01/08/2021-6AM)
