Harold Dean Chinn, age 84 left his earthly home in Speedwell to enter into his heavenly home and woke in the arms of Jesus on January 8th, 2021. He was born in Revelo, Kentucky on May 11th, 1936 to the late Thurman and Exie Chinn.

Harold was employed for 31 years at General Motors and retired in 1996. He went on to buy the Pro-Angler Shop, where he still worked and ran at the time of his home going. Harold worked six days a week and encountered many people both saved and unsaved. Any time you would go into the Pro-Angler you would find him reading his bible and concentrating on God’s Word. Harold has witnessed to many people and prayed with numerous people right there at that cash register, in the place he loved so dearly, The Pro-Angler Shop. There was never a time that a child would come into the store that they didn’t leave without bubble gum, candy, or a lollipop. When those same children would return to the shop, there was an expectation of that same treat. You see, Harold was saved on February 23, 1986 and he became a new man in Christ. The salvation he received made him have a love for others and to let God’s light shine through him. He was a faithful member of Liberty Baptist Church in which he had a great part in building.

In addition to his parents, Harold is preceded in death by his brother, Duel Chinn; his sisters, Delores Dalynis, Geneva Crawford, and Wanda Ping; his infant granddaughter, Blake Kinsler.

Harold is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Joann Chinn of Speedwell; sons, Tim Chinn and wife Rene of Elgin, Illinois,  and Darrell Chinn and wife Faith of Cadiz, Kentucky; daughters, Dottie Cordle of Nashville, Janet Leist and husband, Joe of Cincinnati, and Jennifer McGhee of LaFollette; brother, Richard Chinn and wife Shirley of Oak Ridge; sister, Nina Amenta of Louisville, Kentucky; grandsons, Justin, Dylan, Jacob, Matthew, Luke, and John; granddaughters, Tiffany, Hope, Jasmine, and Jaden; four great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
