LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – The report of an unresponsive person in a pick-up truck was reported on Mon., Jan. 4. The caller told dispatch that the Ford F-150 was parked in the road (Lake Shore Lane) in the College Hill neighborhood.

Christie Lynn Leach, 30, 315 Lake Shore Lane-La Follette, was found slumped over the steering wheel of the truck by Campbell County Sheriff’s Lt. Travis Bostic. After several attempts, the Lieutenant awakened Leach who responded but was lethargic according to the report.

Christie Lynn Leach, age 30, has been booked into the county jail 16 times according to jail records.

Bostic details that he found a hypodermic needle behind the driver’s seat. Leach refused medical treatment and was taken into custody.

At the Campbell County Jail in a routine search during the booking process, Leach’s 16th, corrections staff observed what was believed to be schedule III controlled substances hidden on Leach. Upon observing the substance, Leach quickly grabbed it and consumed the substance by placing it in her mouth and swallowing it based on the arrest report. Leach later allegedly informed Lt. Bostic that the substance was Subutex.

Leach is free on bond this afternoon and is scheduled in court on Tue., Jan. 12. That’s when she’ll to answer to charges of no driver’s license, parking in a prohibited area, possession of schedule III controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, introduction of contraband into a penal facility and destruction of evidence.
