LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Bad news travels fast. Sad news travels faster. The sad news of the passing of Howard St. John came in to WLAF early on Tuesday morning.
Kenny Baird, long time general manager of the La Follette Utilities Board, describes St. John as “a friend and mentor to me. I’ll miss him greatly.”
“He was a person who loved to cut up and “stir up trouble” down at Katie’s Restaurant, especially when it came to politics. Someone asked me who was going to stir things up on Tennessee Avenue now. I told them I’d try to keep Howard’s legacy alive in that regard, but I know I’ll never be able to “hold him a light,” said Baird.
You have big shoes to fill, Kenny. Good luck. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 01/22/2021-6AM)
