JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – This week’s teacher feature comes nominated from one of our viewers. Jacksboro Elementary School’s Aaron Brown (photo above) is WLAF’S Teacher of the week.

Brown teaches fifth grade Math and Science. The former Cougar also coaches the JES Eagle and Lady Eagle basketball teams.

This year marks his sixth year of teaching. Brown said he became a teacher because the Lord led him to it.

His favorite part about teaching is seeing students succeed. “I love seeing my students becoming successful. It makes my day to see them understand and apply something that we have learned together in class,” Brown said. He said there were plenty of positives from this year.

Brown adds, “Despite all the changes, my students haven’t complained or made excuses. Their work ethic and enthusiasm for learning has remained the same. I couldn’t be prouder of them!”

A note from the publisher: Coach Brown was also voted as this year’s “Teacher of the Year” for Jacksboro Elementary School. HERE is the story on Brown and all the other teachers of the year from their schools as announced by the Campbell County School System. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 02/04/2021-6AM)
