Madeline Combs Fields age 78, of LaFollette passed away Thursday February 4, 2021. She and her husband, Paul purchased Springs Dock in 1976 and moved here from Hindman, KY to operate the business. In 1985, they purchased property that today is known as Deerfield Resort. Their vision for Deerfield and steely resolve in achieving and exceeding that vision has been a boon to Campbell County and prominent in fulfilling the dreams of multitudes of permanent and non-permanent residents. Madeline worked side-by-side with her husband in sometimes grueling conditions to develop the resort and other properties (McCloud Mountain). She was beloved by many as the consummate businesswoman, a born entrepreneur, compassionate friend and family woman, the founder of Fields Real Estate who took great pride in providing outstanding service to her many clients. She was also an icon for many burgeoning female real estate agents in the area.

She is preceded in death by; husband, Paul R. Fields, Mother and Father, Allie and Mark Combs, Sisters, Joyce (James) Terry, Vivian (Nathan) Amburgy, Brother, Rex Combs, all of Hindman, Kentucky.

She is survived by; Daughter, Paula (Marc) LeJeune, Son, Scott (Lisa) Fields, Grandchildren, Eli and Hayden Fields. She is also survived by; Sisters, Shirley Wicker (Clyde) of Somerset, Kentucky, Ennis (Jerry) Davidson of Hindman, Kentucky, Sister-in-law, Bettie Sue Wilkie, Brother and Sister-in-law, Jim and Dian Fields and family, of LaFollette, Jacksboro, and Nashville, Tennessee.

A celebration of Madeline’s life is Saturday, February 13, from 12:00-2:00 at LaFollette United Methodist Church, funeral to follow. Interment following the funeral at Shelby Cemetery.
