KNOXVILLE, TN (SPECIAL TO WLAF) – Tennova Healthcare recently welcomed Darryl S. Weiman, M.D., J.D., cardiothoracic surgeon, to his new medical practice at Tennova Heart – Cardiothoracic Surgery. He is accepting new patients at his office on the campus of Turkey Creek Medical Center at 10810 Parkside Drive, Suite 208, Knoxville.

Dr. Weiman is experienced in a wide range of cardiac and thoracic procedures, including open heart and esophageal surgeries, as well as minimally invasive procedures such as defibrillator and pacemaker implantation. He has a special interest in the treatment of ischemic heart disease, cardiac arrhythmia and heart valve disease. Dr. Weiman performs cardiothoracic surgery exclusively at Turkey Creek Medical Center.

Prior to joining Tennova, Dr. Weiman was a professor of cardiothoracic surgery at The University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, TN. He earned his medical degree from St. Louis University School of Medicine in St. Louis, MO. Dr. Weiman completed a surgical residency at The University of Chicago in Chicago, IL, and a residency in cardiothoracic surgery at Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New Hyde Park, NY. He completed fellowship training in thoracic surgery at The University of Chicago. Dr. Weiman also received a law degree from The University of Memphis, Cecil C. Humphrey’s School of Law in Memphis. He is board certified in general surgery and thoracic surgery.
