It was good catching up with my high school typing teacher, Ken Hicks, on Thursday
morning.

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – I looked at him as if he was someone I should know, and he looked back at me the same way. After a second or two, I realized it was Ken Hicks.

Long since retired (1999) from teaching school, I hadn’t seen Mr. Hicks in quite a while. I ran into him Thursday morning while I was pumping gas at the West End Marathon. He needed diesel from the pump I was using is how he ended up walking my way.

It was good catching up with my typing teacher from La Follette High School. Little did I know that the skills learned in that class would be a skill I’d put to use everyday of my broadcasting career. Thank you, Ken. I mean, Mr. Hicks. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 02/26/2021-6AM)

  1. You won’t find a better hard working man than Ken Hicks. He has been my friend and neighbor for most of my adult life. He is always busy with something. You will never find him idle. My brother Zol also thought there was no one like him. Ken helped my daughter get a part time job in high school nearly 25 years ago and she is still there with a great career. We love you Ken and respect you beyond words.
