Mary Dean (Wier) Bunch passed away peacefully at home on March 6, 2021.  Lately of Oak Ridge, she was born in Jacksboro, TN on May 15, 1934 to Robert E and Bertha Wier.  She lived and raised her family with her late husband of 58 years, John Parker Bunch in Madison Heights, MI and in Columbia, TN before retiring to Oak Ridge.

She graduated from Jacksboro High School (where she was a cheerleader) in 1952.  She attended East Tennessee State University where she attained a teaching certificate.  She taught at both Stoney Fork and Wynn schools In Tennessee, as well as in Madison Heights Michigan where she taught and was a Director of a day care.   Dean most enjoyed spending time with her large and close family.   She also enjoyed cruises and golfing.   She was a lifelong member of the Jacksboro United Methodist Church. 

She was proceeded in death by her husband, John Parker Bunch, sister and brother-in-law Robbie (Roy) Hendrickson, sister and brother-in-law Joyce (Bill) Robinson, brother Don Wier, and brother-in-law Al Coble.

She is survived by her children, Sherry (Chris) Jensen, of Manchester; Susan (Jim) Moore of Hazlehurst, GA and Jay (Cathy) Bunch of Knoxville.  Grandchildren: Christa Jensen (Mike) Court, Leigha Jensen Lafferty, Parker Moore, Edward (Jaime) Moore, Ashley Bunch and Pete Bunch. Great Grandchildren; Briley Lafferty, Charlie Lafferty and Samantha Court.  Sister, Peggy Coble, and brother, Joe (Mary) Wier, and sister-in-law Shirley Wier in addition to many beloved nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank everyone for their considerate thoughts and prayers in this trying time.  A special thanks to Hulana Marlow for her added friendship and support.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday March 13th at 1:00pm at Jacksboro Cemetery with Rev. Perry Duncan officiating.
