LAKELAND, FL (SPECIAL TO WLAF) – The Bryan College Women’s Basketball team took the court on the campus of Southeastern University for their first game of the NAIA National Championship Opening Round.
Their opponent was the Warriors of Webber International, and this one was worth the price of admission. The Lady Lions had to claw and fight for every point on every possession. The fast and aggressive defense of the Warriors limited the Lions’ offense all night long. Bryan was up 65-64 with 12 seconds left in the game. Kaitlynn Hennessee jumped in the passing lane to snag a clutch steal and draw a foul. Two free throws sealed the victory for the Lady Lions and punched their ticket to the next round.
