TOP PHOTO: Police say Jody Teague was not wearing a seat belt when she wrecked her car into a fence and tree on Wednesday morning just after 9:30 am.

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Not only was a La Follette woman injured in a wreck on Wednesday, she is facing charges in the single-vehicle crash.

Tennessee Highway Patrol Sergeant Rex Bailey details in the accident report that 37-year old Jody Teague was traveling north on Bethlehem Road when her 2008 Honda Accord ran off the left side of the road first striking a fence. Teague’s car continued north down the side of the road hitting a tree before coming to a stop.

Teague, not wearing a seat belt according to Bailey’s report, was transported to the La Follette Medical Center.

The accident happened just south of the Old Middlesboro Hwy intersection.

Released from the hospital, Teague was in the process of being booked into the Campbell County Jail around 2:30 am this morning and was booked in a short time later according to jail officials. Sgt. Bailey charged her with DUI 1st, Driving on Suspended, Possession of Sch II, Possession of Sch VI, Possession of Paraphernalia and Failure to Exercise Due Care.
