LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Valley View’s Kyra Herrin is WLAF’s teacher of the week. Herrin teaches first grade and has been a teacher for 14 years.

She said the Lord inspired her to become a teacher and she felt led to follow His will for her life. “I am so thankful that I did! I could not imagine doing anything else,” Herrin said.

Her favorite part about teaching is seeing her students grow and learn.

“They are so eager to learn, and I am honored to watch them grow throughout the year. Seeing their light bulb moments and building personal relationships with them are the best!”

Herrin said she found positives from this past year despite all the chaos and changes in the “small moments.”

“I am so thankful that we are back in the classroom! This year has been challenging but it has made me appreciate the small moments even more.” (WLAF NEWS PUB
