NEWCOMB, TN (WLAF) – Timothy Clay Ayers driver’s license has been revoked since January. Yet, he was driving in the wee hours of last Saturday morning.

Campbell County Deputy Preston Mullins was on routine patrol on Highway 297 around 3 am when he came across Ayers and his red Chevy Tracker. Based on Mullins report, he was unable to read the Tracker’s license plate, because the lights above the plate were burned out,

The deputy performed a traffic stop and came in contact with the 31-year- old La Follette man. Mullins ran a driver’s license check and learned that Ayers’ license was revoked for reasons of DUI (driving under the influence) with an effective date of January, 2, 2021.

Ayers was placed under arrest without incident and scheduled in court on May 11. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 04/07/2021-6AM)
