JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – “We’re going to have a heavy presence the rest of the week with our deputies as well as officers with the Jacksboro Police Department at Jacksboro Middle School,” said Campbell County Sheriff Robbie Goins. The sheriff made those comments during a live interview this morning on WLAF Radio on the heels of learning of a threat being made at JMS.

Goins adds that the threat was written on a bathroom wall and was discovered Monday evening. “We do not take these types of threats lightly, especially where our children are concerned,” stated Sheriff Goins. After learning of the threat, law enforcement scoured the school Monday evening to make sure all was safe before students returned on Tuesday.

“The morning has gone well at the school and everyone is safe,” he said. The sheriff considers it a copy cat of what happened last Tuesday at La Follette Middle School. A week ago, a similar threat was discovered at LMS. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 04/13/2021-8AM)
