LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) –  Spring testing is just around the corner and Campbell County teachers have had quite the school year with all the challenges and changes brought on by the pandemic. That’s why WLAF wants to recognize area educators who go that extra mile each and every day for their students. This week’s featured educator is Valley View Elementary School’s Tiffany Nolan.

Valley View’s Tiffany Nolan is WLAF’s teacher of the week.

Nolan teaches fourth grade English Lanuguage Arts. She has been teaching in Campbell County since 2009.

She said teaching children at church inspired her to become a teacher.

“Before that, I wanted to be an astronaut. Also, my grandfather, Wheeler Boshears, was a teacher and principal in the county. He was always teaching me something (especially in the summertime), and it made me really appreciate learning,” Nolan said.

According to Nolan, her favorite part of her job is when students connect with books.

“I love when students make connections to texts that we read.”

She also said students and teachers had made this past school year a positive experience despite all the changes.  “My fellow teachers and students have maintained a positive attitude throughout this school year, despite COVID-19 and all of the changes we’ve had to make.” (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 04/15/2021-6AM)
