WHITE OAK, TN (WLAF) – A missing headlight cost a Duff woman a trip to jail. Campbell County Sheriff’s Deputy Preston Mullins was traveling in White Oak when he noticed a black Jetta with Kentucky tags had a headlight out. He stopped the vehicle and contacted Mary Melinda Lambdin, who was driving the vehicle. He noticed as he was speaking with her that she was unable to be still and experiencing body tremors. Mullins could also smell a strong odor of alcohol coming from the car. He then noticed an unopened bottle of Bud Light in the center console of the vehicle, according to a report from the sheriff’s department. The report also notes she was also drinking from a Styrofoam cup with a lid.

Mullins asked the woman to step out of the vehicle to perform field sobriety tests. However, she allegedly was too intoxicated to perform the test. Mullins put Lambdin in custody and asked her multiple times if she had any illegal items on her, she allegedly told him she did not. A search of the vehicle revealed an unopened case of Bud Light in the back seat floorboard and a glass smoking pipe with a white powder residue believed to be methamphetamine.

While Lambdin was being searched during intake a clear plastic bag containing a quantity of clear rock-like substance believed to be methamphetamine fell out of her pocket and onto the floor.

Lambdin, 39, 208 Hatmaker Hollow Lane, Duff is charged with driving under the influence (DUI) and introduction of contraband into a penal facility. The unemployed mother of nine is due in court on May 11. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 04/16/2021-6AM)
