LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – The Campbell County Sheriff’s Office issued a release today on developments in a 2020 murder case. Related story.

On May 24, 2020, the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office began an investigation into a death at 3988 Cedar Creek Rd. Investigators arrived at the scene to find a male, identified as Elbert Lee Moore, in a state of distress with apparent injuries indicative of being struck by a motor vehicle.

The Campbell County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Unit, led by Captain John Long, concluded their investigation and presented a case against Arthur Thomas Schutte to a Campbell County Grand Jury, resulting in a true bill.

On April 15, 2021, Arthur Schutte, age 69 of South Sudenny Lane-La Follette, was arrested and booked into the Campbell County Jail on charges of Second Degree Murder.
