LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – The fun of Casey Kasem’s American Top 40 The 70s trips back to May 14, 1977, Saturday night at 7 pm over WLAF radio.  The fun three hours of memories are brought to you by Maynard’s Auto Parts, Petals of Grace Flowers and Gifts and State Representative Dennis Powers.Hits from the week of May 14, 1977, are featured as Casey counts down the Top 40 songs from that long ago week Saturday night on WLAF.  Fleetwood Mac’s Dreams was playing on the radio 44 years ago along with Glen Campbell’s hit song, Southern Nights.  The theme from the movie Rocky, Gonna Fly Now from Bill Conti, was steady on the charts as Boz Scaggs third hit, Lido Shuffle was as well.  You’ll also hear the nation’s other top 36 songs over WLAF just like they all played here on the old radio station in 1977.

  2. I remember listening to Casey through the years and trying to guess what was going to be the #1 song on the countdown that week – great music, great memories, great idea!
