LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Campbell County Deputies were dispatched to a home on Larue Lane, just off Bethlehem Road, on May 11 about an intoxicated man pointing guns at people and firing rounds into unknown locations.

When deputies arrived at 4:30pm, they spoke with the victim who was at the home doing excavation for the man who was identified as Claude Raymond Petree. The victim alleged that Petree came outside and pointed a handgun at him twice and was yelling at him, according to a report from the sheriff’s office. The victim told deputies he did not know what he did to make him mad, but he got away from the scene as quickly as possible and waited on deputies to respond.

When Petree came out of the home, deputies had him at gunpoint for their safety. Petree was arrested without incident. Petree allegedly kept repeating he did not point a gun at anyone.

A fully loaded gun was located inside the house, matching the description the victim gave to deputies. Petree appeared to be intoxicated, staggering in his movements and had the odor alcohol, according to the report. Petree allegedly admitted to drinking several beers.
