It was quite the hardware haul for the Campbell County Cougar Tennis Team after completing the first-ever undefeated regular season in any sport at CCHS.

DUFF, TN (WLAF) – The CCHS Tennis team celebrated the culmination of a record season with its banquet at McCloud Mountain Restaurant Wednesday evening.

Cougar Tennis Coach Josh Parker was all smiles as he handed out certificates to each player commending them on their season and achievements. Exiting seniors received commemorative medals as well.

“I’ve got the best bunch of kids from top to bottom,” Parker said, adding that he was excited about next year and all the team members that would be returning.

“We’ve got some great leaders in this bunch that will be back next year. It’s just been a great run and an exciting season and I couldn’t ask for anything better. These kids did amazing,” Parker said. He also extended a huge thanks to parents and the school as well for their support. 

The Cougars completed the school’s first-ever undefeated regular season in any sport at 10 & 0. The team won both the regular season and district tournament championships and finished among the final 16 teams in the state. The season also featured two wins over Oak Ridge.

Parker said he was proud of the team, which consists of 33 students.
