Heather Heatherly is WLAF’s teacher of the week

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – LaFollette Elementary School’s Heather Heatherly is WLAF’s teacher of the week. 

Heatherly has been teaching Kindergarten for 29 years. She said she was inspired to choose teaching as a career by her own kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Janice Hicks.

Her favorite part of teaching Kindergarten is “when a child makes all of the connections and begins to read.”

Heatherly said that the past year has been full of positives. “Despite the pandemic, my kindergartners were able to learn how to read, gained necessary skills for their age group and had fun while doing it!” (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 06/03/2021-6AM)
