LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Thursday was a sweet treat with Mugs Ice Cream holding its grand opening. The new business opened in March, but had it’s official ribbon cutting Thursday afternoon. Chamber of commerce ambassadors, along with chamber director Missy Tackett, county mayor E.L. Morton and friends and family joined ice cream shop owners Aaron Brown and Brad Honeycutt for the momentous occasion.

Brown and Honeycutt are both local teachers and coaches and have known one another for years. Each has spare time in the summer and was “looking for something to start.” “The time was right, and we went for it,” Honeycutt said.

This is one of Mugs “freak shakes;” a smores freak shake.

The duo said they wanted to thank the community for the support and warm welcome, as well as a big thanks to Grace Rehab for their support.

Mugs has an awesome full menu of sweets and treats, as well as some very unique “freak shakes” that come in an assortment of specials such as cookies and cream or smores, cheesecake, chocolate lovers and more. You can get them in a cup or a special souvenir mug.

Mugs owners Aaron Brown, left and Brad Honeycutt, right were joined by Campbell County Chamber of Commerce Director Missy Tackett on their grand opening on Thursday. Tackett addresses the crowd before the ribbon cutting.

Mugs is located in the corner of the Grace Rehab parking lot at  2435 Jacksboro Pike, across from Hardee’s. Current hours are Monday 2 to 9 pm, Thursday 2 to 9 pm, Friday, 2 to 9 pm and Saturday noon to 9 pm.

You can check Mugs and its menu out on Facebook, instagram and website. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 06/11/2021-6AM)

  1. Great job, I don’t know Aaron Brown, but I have known Brad since he was a small boy one of the best. Thank you Aaron and Brad for giving the young people a job for the summer!!
