CARYVILLE, TN (WLAF) – In honor of Free Fishing Day in Tennessee, Cove Lake State Park held its fishing event Saturday morning from 10 a.m to 11 a.m. at the boat dock.

Ranger Cross and several park employees spent an hour Saturday morning providing poles and basic fishing instructions for kids, many of whom had never been fishing before. Getting to see and touch a fish was a new experience for most of the kids there.

Cove Lake State Park Clerk Rebekah Wasson, along with seasonal employees Logan Gresham and Nick Foster helped kids with Saturday’s free fishing day event at the Park’s boat dock.

“It’s been a fun morning seeing the kids touch fish for the first time and free fishing day is a great way to get kids into fishing,” said Rebekah Wasson of Cove Lake State Park.
