LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – As the sun beat down with humidity rising, Doug Boshears and his crew of fellow iron men endured a heat index of more than 100 degrees while paving the parking lot at JR’s Tires on Monday. JR’s Tires reopens Tuesday morning at 8 am.

“Oh, we were able to start paving at 7am, because we did some prep work ahead of today,” said Jonathan Hembree with Boshears Paving.

After a short lunch break, Bronson Wray (left), Bobby Metzler and crew right back to black-topping.

The Boshears Paving crew broke for lunch for a few minutes and went right back to work. Another huge dump truck of asphalt rolled up after the lunch break.

Doug Boshears (in Cat Skid Steer Loader) and his crew catch a little shade late Monday morning as they pave JR’s Tires parking lot.

“We’ll probably finish up around 4 pm or so, and we’ll likely be back Wednesday to stripe it,” said Boshears.

Boshears Paving finished up at about 5:30pm Monday.
