JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – Summer is the perfect time to try one of Chuck & Shy’s Monster Subs or loaded salads. When they say “Monster,” they mean it; subs come loaded with up to a pound of meat.

The new sandwich shop opened up in Jacksboro six weeks ago and is owned and operated by Kody and Ali Oakes.

Chuck ‘n Shy’s Monster Subs is owned and operated by Kody and Ali Oakes.

The couple moved to Tennessee from California and so far are “loving it.” While in California, they had operated a food truck, but had always wanted to open an on-site location.

The sub shop is named after Kody’s grandparents, Chuck and Shy.  His grandfather was from the Knoxville area, which is part of what led them to Tennessee.

A picture is worth…

They “stumbled on Campbell County” and felt the small town, community oriented atmosphere fit where they wanted to locate their business.

“We love the small town atmosphere and the location. The community has been so welcoming,” Ali Oakes said.

Chuck & Shy’s Monster Subs is located at 3175 Appalachian Highway (across from the middle school) in Jacksboro.

Chuck & Shy’s Monster Subs has subs of all sizes from 1/8 of a pound of meat all the way up to a monster one pound. Subs come loaded with pretty much anything and everything you can think of, as well as the option for it to be steamed for a dollar more. The shop also makes amazing loaded salads as well with tons of meat, cheese and veggies. There’s lunch specials daily on chips and a drink and a wide variety of specialty subs.

According to the owners, the business has been going well and they want to invite everyone to come try out their Monster Subs.
