LAFOLLETTE, TN (SPECIAL TO WLAF) – It was the ‘We Love Campbell County’ event live from Lee J. Sargent Park in downtown LaFollette on Saturday with live entertainment from Ray Graham Jr., plus hot dogs and games and such. One game, Candy Walk, is like Cake Walk only with candy was played. There were bounce houses, and a lot of volunteers were there for prayer, serving food and fellowship.

Mickey Mouse made a special guest appearance along with some other fun characters.

The kids loved it and really enjoyed the water event, which was similar to a dunking booth only there was a bucket of water when someone hit the mark. Anyone who was standing under the bucket got wet.

A wet and welcome cool down on Saturday’s hot July afternoon.

Everyone seemed to have a great time.

Kimberly Danielle Leonard said, “It’s all about Campbell County. We love you.” She was the organizer of the event, and she’s also the president of ‘Dust Of Hope’ Thrift Store and food pantry.

Dust of Hope is a non- profit 503 and all donations go to its food pantry which helps many in the area. In fact, they had food boxes on hand Saturday.

The first ‘We Love Campbell County’ event was held at Lee J. Sargent Park.

Among the many sponsors of the event were Hope+Stand Church, School Board Chairman Johnny Byrge and County Commissioner Scott Kitts.

Hard working volunteers braved the heat to help at Saturday’s big event.

A great crowd came out to support the first event once they figured the rain was going to hold off. They are also on Facebook as Dust Of Hope Mission. The mission was created on May 27, 2020. Every volunteer is a volunteer. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 07/12/2021-6AM-PHOTOS COURTESY OF DAVID GRAHAM)
