LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – On this Throwback Thursday, WLAF’s Charlie Hutson shares memories of the annual New Car Parade; likely around 1960 in this particular photo.

In this picture, the parade travels down Mill Street in La Follette.

This parade was every year when the new models of cars came out in the fall.  When dealers would take delivery of the new year models, they would keep them under wraps until the reveal date, set by the car manufacturer.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 07/15/2021-6AM)

  1. THANKS for the memories! My Father, Troy Taylor, was a Mechanic for Sherman “Apple Knocker” Brown at The Dodge/Plymouth Dealership.

  2. Best I can see, this picture was taken in 1955 or 1956 if I could see the front of the Ford behind the Pontiac I would know what year it was. Anyway, thanks for the Memories!!!
