LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Tiffany Gwin is WLAF’s teacher of the week. Gwin teaches Pre-K at LaFollette Elementary School.

She has been an educator for 11 years and said it was her own teachers that inspired her to follow a career in education.

LaFollette Elementary’s Tiffany Gwin is WLAF’s teacher of the week.

“I had a multitude of amazing teachers throughout my educational career. They went above and beyond to create outstanding learning experiences for me,” Gwin said.

Her mother also worked in a school setting, which she said helped her to realize she “thrived in this type of climate”.

According to Gwin, it’s the kids themselves that are her favorite part of the job. “The children are the most amazing part of my job! Their outlook on life inspires me on a daily basis,” Gwin said.

Some positives from the past year despite the pandemic have been “seeing the faculty and staff come together to create a safe atmosphere for the students.”

Gwin said she was also proud of the students.”They remained eager to learn and maintained positive attitudes even though this school year was unpredictable,” Gwin said. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 07/22/2021-6AM)
