PIONEER, TN (WLAF) – Summer is winding down and teachers are gearing up for another busy school year. WLAF is continuing its weekly teacher feature honoring educators across the county.

“Teaching through this pandemic has really made me appreciate all of the wonderful people in my life and in our school,” Brittany Vaughn said.

Brittany Vaughn is WLAF’s teacher of the week. She teaches first grade at Elk Valley STEM School, and this coming school year will be her third year as an educator.

Vaughn said she attended Elk Valley as a child, and that is where her love for learning began at a young age. She counts her time at Elk Valley and her experience with teachers there as an inspiration for her own career.

“I am blessed to teach in the very school behind my inspiration of becoming a teacher,” Vaughn said.

“My favorite part about being a teacher is watching my students learn and grow throughout the year, hoping I’ve made a difference in some way. They are truly amazing!”

Vaughn said that despite the pandemic, she and her students had a wonderful year full of learning and fun last school year.

“Teaching through this pandemic has really made me appreciate all of the wonderful people in my life and in our school,” Vaughn said. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 07/29/2021-6AM)
