LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – It was a quick turn-a-round on Monday even though it was a 12 hour project to repair a section of East Central Avenue near the post office.

Since late Sunday morning, eastbound traffic was funneled down to one lane to get around a right lane sink hole that was spotted by La Follette Public Works Director Casey Boshears.

Around 7pm Monday evening, Darian Foust with the City of La Follette Public Works Department officially reopens East Elm Street. The street was closed where it meets East Central Avenue due to the sink hole on Central across from the post office.

“All the loose dirt was removed. Then stone, concrete and a layer of asphalt were added,” said Boshears. The repair began Monday at 7am and finished up around 7pm.
