JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – On Thursday evening the Jacksboro Board of Mayor and Aldermen met with a short agenda. The board approved the prior month’s minutes as well as expenditures.

As they moved through the agenda, the board approved the purchase of a 2021 Dodge Durango with a price tag of $31,382 plus equipment installation for the vehicle.

The fire department will see a change in the coming weeks. The town’s six full-time fireman have previously been working eight hour shifts but will soon move to 24 hour shifts. The change will not impact part-time firemen.

The board discussed participating in next year’s Celebrate Campbell County Fireworks Show. The fireworks show had been held in various locations throughout Campbell County for the past two years with each municipality contributing to the cost of the show.
