LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Community Health of East Tennessee (CHET) is celebrating National Health Center Week August 8-14.

National Health Center Week is an annual celebration with the goal of raising awareness about the mission and accomplishments of America’s health centers over the past five decades.

According to CHET Chief Operations Officer Penny Etter, the clinic will be celebrating with special events for its staff and patients.

Lisa Boshears with Community Health of East Tennessee was at the Health Week event on Thursday providing health education.

“At Community Health of East Tennessee (CHET), we believe in fulfilling our mission statement of ‘Answering the Need’ to the citizens of Campbell and surrounding counties.  Our clinic will celebrate with special events for our staff and patients,” Etter said.

On Thursday, CHET hosted several vendors on site for the Health Week event and also offered COVID-19 vaccines for anyone who needs one.

Community Health of East Tennessee offers Primary Care, Physicals, FAA Physicals, Laboratory, X-ray, Medication Assistance, Behavioral Health, and Endocrinology, among other services.  It is also home to the only Black Lung clinic in the state of Tennessee.

“In the past year, we were able to welcome Dr. Shaan Valji, a family medical practitioner to our practice. We offer a sliding fee scale for uninsured individuals and we accept all insurance plans,” Etter said.
