Wlaf1450Selena Danyal McGhee, age 46, of Jellico, Tennessee passed away Thursday,August 12, 2021 at Baptist Health Corbin. She was born on October 19, 1974in Clearwater, Florida.
Her paternal grandparents were the late Silas McGhee and Lura June (Siddall) McGhee. Her maternal grandparents were the late H. K. Solomon and Mary (Hicks) Solomon.
Danyal was a member of First Christian Church of Jellico. She was a graduate of Jellico High School – Class of 1992. She was also a Certified Nursing Assistant.
In addition to her grandparents, she was preceded in death by her uncles, Phillip McGhee and David Hicks.
She is survived by her son, Landon Brody McGhee, of the Kentucky Hill Community of Whitley County, KY; parents, Robert and Maxine McGhee, of Kentucky Hill; sister, Bobbie Lynn McGhee, of Jellico; aunts and uncles, Silas McGhee, and wife, Pat, of Clearwater, FL, Joann (Walker) McGhee, of Jellico, Ray Hicks, and wife, Pat, of Dayton, Ohio, and Josephine (Hicks)Noel, of Louisville, KY; nephews, Sebastian Ellison, and wife, Krista, and Max Ellison, all of Jellico, and a host of friends, neighbors, and other relatives to mourn her passing.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday evening, August16, 2021, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Cox & Son Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral services will immediately follow on Monday evening, August 16, 2021, at 8:00 p.m. at the Cox & Son Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. E. Wayne Barton, II officiating.
Interment will follow on Tuesday morning, August 17, 2021, at 11:00 in the Douglas Cemetery located in Campbell County, TN.
Cox & Son Funeral Home of Jellico is in charge of all arrangements.
