LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – A white Ford Fusion was parked in the middle of the road on last week on old Hwy 63. Campbell County Sheriff’s Deputy Shayne Wilburn spoke with the driver of the car, Dewayne Christopher Brandenburg, who alleged his vehicle had “messed up” on him and he was waiting on a friend to come help him out. Wilburn asked the man how long it had been since he spoke with his friend, Brandenburg responded about 45 minutes and that he was coming from LaFollette, according to a report from the sheriff’s department.

While Brandenburg was speaking with the man, he noticed a smell of alcohol and marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. Brandenburg allegedly performed unsatisfactorily on field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest.

Brandenburg, 49, 595 Rockcreek Lane, LaFollette was charged with driving under influence (3rd offense), violation implied consent law, possession of drug paraphernalia and open container law. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 08/19/2021-6AM)
