DUFF, TN (WLAF) – Campbell County Sheriff’s Deputy Christopher West saw a white Toyota RAV 4 on Aug. 13 driving on Hwy 90 North in Duff when he noticed an issue with the vehicle’s license tag. When West attempted to initiate a traffic stop, a white male got out of the vehicle and attempted to run, leaving a female in the passenger seat, according to a report from the sheriff’s department.

West chased the man on foot for about 200 yards, commanding him to stop. After West won the foot race with Trenedy Junior Reed, he placed him under arrest.

Once the man was put in West’s patrol car, he went back to speak with the woman in the passenger seat of the vehicle. The woman told West her name was Heather Nicole Gibson. A check of warrants revealed that Gibson had a violation of probation warrant. Gibson was placed under arrest and a search of her personal bag revealed several white pills that Gibson told West were Gabapentin and two orange pills that she identified as Gabapentin as well, according to the report.

Reed, 36, 223 Pruden Road, Clairfield was charged with evading arrest and other.

Gibson, 35, 221 Lambdin Hill Road, Clairfield was charged with two counts possession of schedule III controlled substance and violation of probation out of general sessions court. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 08/23/2021-6AM)
