LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – What was torn down in a blink back in February is slowly being built back. The area on the Jacksboro side of La Follette where a car plowed through the Welcome to La Follette city limit sign is making a come back.

The actual sign was erected in June, and on Monday, work to rebuild the flower bed began. “I’m thinking it may be late Wednesday (today) before we can finish it up,” said David Hatfield of Hatfield Home Improvements and Repair.

Finishing up the work hinges on how soon Hatfield is able to get the stone. One supplier indicated it would be weeks, and Hatfield was hoping another contact could come through much sooner.

Here’s the look of progress on Tuesday evening.
