JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – It’ll either be a bye week or a new opponent come Friday night for the Campbell High Football Team. Late in the day on Monday, the scheduled Region 3 AAAAA game for Sept. 3 against the Panthers at Lenoir City was scrapped.

“As of right now, we don’t have an opponent for Friday night. We should know more tomorrow (Tuesday),” said Campbell Director of Athletics Matt Price. As soon as a decision is made about Friday, Price will release the details.

Though the LC game is off the table, the opportunity remains to add a game in 2021. Campbell’s open date is October 15. “Potentially, we could add a game later in the season if it doesn’t work out this week,” noted Price.

The Cougars are off to a 2 & 0 start after wins at Chattanooga Central (42-24) and home with Heritage (42-7). CCHS trailed in both games.

This is the 47th season of Cougar Football, and there have only been four 2 & 0 starts along with four 3 & 0 records to begin a season. Seven of those eight seasons have come in the Justin Price Era.
