The La Follette Fire Department’s ladder unit showcases Old Glory.

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – A good size crowd lined Hwy 25W Wednesday night near South Avenue to see CSX engine 1776, The Spirit of Our Armed Forces.

Here is a daytime look, courtesy of CSX, of all three of the CSX commemorative locomotives honoring First Responders, Law Enforcement and Armed Forces.

The engine passed through La Follette at 11:30pm at a very slow pace so the crowd could get a good look at the one-of-a-kind locomotive. The train was scheduled to be here between 8:30pm and 9 pm, but a north bound train broke down and delayed south bound engine 1776.

This one-of-a-kind locomotive was painted at CSX’s Huntington, West Virginia, Locomotive Shop.
