“We’ll focus on (DeSean) Bishop, but not to the point where someone else has a career game as a result,” said Campbell Defensive Coordinator Matt Price. Bishop and Karns upset the Cougars a season ago in a nail biter at Dossett Stadium. The Beavers are back in town tonight to take on the state ranked Cougars in a key region match-up.
Bishop has the talent to play big time college football and likely will possibly as a Tennessee Vol. Yes, he is that good.
The 2021 version of the Cougars is 4 & 0, for only the second time in school history, with a 1 & 0 region mark entering tonight’s Region 3 5-A game on John T. “Jack” Reynolds Field. Kick-off between CCHS and Karns is 7:30pm.
Karns is hungry for a win after a two and oh start, the Beavers have dropped two games in-a-row. Karns won its season opener on the road with a 21-7 victory at Hardin Valley followed by a 40-7 home win over William Blount. At Powell, the Panthers whipped the Beavers in their annual rival game 47 to 20, and last week at Bristol, Tennessee High squeaked out a 33-31 win over Karns.
