Howard Chapman, age 75 of Jacksboro, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 21, 2021. He was born on January 23, 1946, to the late Noah Chapman and Beulah Cox Chapman.  Howard was a member of High Knob Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, going to garage sales, watching westerns and being with his family.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers Robert, Charles, Tommy, Paul, and Cabbage Chapman; and sisters Ruby White, Helen Smith, and Sue Mitchell.

He is survived by his loving wife Sandra Chapman; daughter Heather Sowards and husband Chris of Jacksboro; grandchildren Sophia Sowards of Jacksboro, and Matthew Sowards and wife Emeri of Knoxville; sisters Jean Hicks of Clinton and Mae Tuscher of LaFollette; brother-in-law Doyle Mitchell of Texas; numerous nieces, nephews, friends.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Friday, September 24, 2021, in the chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home with funeral service to follow at 8:00 PM with Rev. Zach Lloyd officiating. The family will meet at Martin Wilson Funeral home on Saturday, September 25 at 10:15 AM to go in funeral procession to Jacksboro Cemetery for an 11:00 AM interment.
