Mr. Michael Lynn Loy, age 57, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, formerly of LaFollette, passed away on Saturday, September 25, 2021, after a brief illness.

He was preceded in death by his Mother, Charlotte Loy, his Son, Crawford Loy, and Sister, Karen Renee Loy, Grandparents, Wiley and Maggie Loy, and D.C. and Minnie Elmore Swinney.

Mike is survived by his wife, Shannon Loy, Father, Rev. Bill Loy, Daughter, Anna Loy, Special Cousin, Sharon Storey.  Other family and friends .

Mike was born on February 17, 1964, to Bill and Charlotte Loy and was raised in LaFollette, TN. He attended the University of Tennessee and was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity.

Mike moved to Chattanooga in 1992. He ran a financial business for 22 years. He had a daughter in 1995 and a son in 1999. In the late 2000’s, he left the financial industry and pursue a career in trucking.  He married his wife Shannon in 2018.

He was the light of our world and everyone who met him. He never met a stranger; everyone was a friend. His smile was genuine and his laugh was contagious.

A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, September 29, 2021, 4:00P.M., at Church of the Good Shepherd, 211 Franklin Road, Lookout Mountain, TN  37350.  Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there will be a limit to the number of people at the service. There will be Celebration of life Service with information to follow.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to any local animal shelter.

  1. Mike was a dear friend and my heart is broken at the news of his passing. We were in the same class at Wynn School from K-12 grade. We were in drama and did several plays together. Mike was a ball of fun and I will cherish the memories. Praying for his family.

    1. Mike was light to everyone. Always had a smile. People just LOVED to be around him. He was the best husband/friend/person I had ever known.

Mike was a good friend in school k- 12 in all through highschool we shared the same locker often wonder where he ended up at and what he was doing now and find out we do the same kind of work i was just talking bout him few days ago sounds like he had a fine family and it is sad that one of our friends are gone on we will be praying for yuns
